Impact From my point of view, William Roper Hull is one of the most important pioneers who built Alberta, my home. His success still impacts my life and shapes Albertan society. I live near William Roper Hull’s School/Home for troubled children, and even though I don’t attend the school, I see the impact it makes in my community. I have always gone to the Stampede Breakfasts, Christmas and Halloween Party events, and other gatherings at William Roper Hull. I go hiking in Fish Creek Park and frequently pass the Ranch Farm that he owned. These are the most visible contributions I can see that William Roper Hull made on my life, but if I dig a little deeper, I can understand that he helped make Calgary what it is. He started one of the most successful ranching operations in Alberta’s history, but more than that he helped create my province Alberta.
